Connie Mockenhaupt Jimena

Connie has been involved in the arts since her mother brought her home from the hospital and set her in the middle of her brother's jazz band. She holds degrees in Music, Dance and Drama and has appeared in many musical productions from New York to California. Some of her favorite roles include Roxie Hart in 'Chicago', Reno Sweeney in 'Anything Goes', Lola in 'Damn Yankies', Mona Kent in 'Dames At Sea', Sheila in ?A Chorus Line?, and Charity Hope Valentine in 'Sweet Charity'. She has finished directing 'Beauty & the Beast' for El Dorado Musical Theatre and has directed, choreographed or musical directed over 350 shows. She loves working with young people and has spent a big part of her time in education teaching dance, music, and drama. She was awarded the National Outstanding Dance Educator of the year in 1992. She taught dance at Sacramento High School and was the Coordinator for The Visual & Performing Arts Centre (VAPAC) until 1997. She recently retired as the Coordinator of the new Natomas Charter Performing & Fine Arts Academy, which she and her husband Mike helped establish. Connie and Mike are busy running their business, Mikon Productions, which builds sets and creates large art works and displays. Mike and Connie are looking forward to opening the brand new 'Backlot Theatre' and 'Stage Nine Art Annex' this spring at 4911 Windplay in El Dorado Hills.
